The Glamping Business Setup Guide

- The 12 Steps -

Land Requirements

Is a glamping business the right option for my land?

We are often asked if a certain piece of land is suitable for a glamping site. Our answer is always the same - “pitch a tent and experience it for yourself”. If the space makes you feel calm and relaxed then it could be good. Throw in views, good sunsets, tranquillity and proximity to populous areas, then you could have yourself a winning combination.

Most glamping holiday makers just want to park themselves up for the weekend and relax on the deck or enjoy some simple pleasures around the local area. You don’t need to live in an area of outstanding natural beauty (often for planning it actually helps not to!) “or next to a big national tourist destination. If you have a nice quiet patch of grass and the ambition to make something of it, your guests will love your little piece of heaven as much as you do.

When it comes to your land, one of the things you do have to worry about is planning permission - often the crux of a glamping project. You will need to have planning permission in order to run a glamping site and it’s best to start putting some feelers out before investing too much time or money on anything else. Getting planning permission can be a daunting and complicated task but don’t worry, we have been doing this for over three decades and can help you every step of the way.
